UniLedger.app (“UniLedger”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. UniLedger is designed as a private, local-first personal accounting platform. Your financial data stays on your device by default and is not stored in a central UniLedger cloud database.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, when information may leave your device, and how we protect your privacy.
1. Financial Data Stays on Your Device
Your transactions, accounts, balances, documents, accounting entries, reports, projects, entities, and other financial records are stored locally on your device by default.
UniLedger does not automatically receive or store this information simply because you use the Service.
Data stored only on your device remains under your control.
2. Information We May Receive
We may process limited personal information necessary to operate UniLedger, such as your email address, profile information, subscription status, communications with us, and basic technical information required to operate and secure our website and services.
Your UniLedger account is separate from your locally stored accounting data.
3. Website and Analytics
When you visit UniLedger.app, we may process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type, requested pages, and server logs.
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how our website and Service are used. We do not intentionally include the contents of your accounting records in analytics or telemetry.
Where required by law, non-essential analytics or cookies are used only with your consent.
4. AI Document Processing
UniLedger may allow you to use AI to process receipts, invoices, and other documents.
Financial documents are not sent for external AI processing automatically. Data leaves your device only when you use a feature that requires such processing.
Only information necessary to perform the requested processing is transmitted.
We do not use your private accounting documents to train publicly available AI models.
5. Encrypted Backups
UniLedger may allow you to create encrypted backups on another device or storage location you control.
Backups are designed to be encrypted before leaving your device. Where client-side encryption is used, UniLedger does not hold the key required to read your financial data.
If you lose your encryption key and all recoverable copies of your data, UniLedger cannot recover or restore your data.
6. E-Invoicing and Integrations
When you use e-invoicing, banking, government, storage, or other external integrations, information necessary to perform the requested operation may be transmitted to the relevant service.
UniLedger does not send your financial data to external services simply because those integrations are available. Transmission occurs when you enable or use the relevant functionality.
Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
7. Payments
Payments and subscriptions may be processed by third-party payment providers or app stores.
UniLedger may receive information such as your subscription status, payment status, transaction identifier, or purchased plan. Where payment details are handled directly by a payment provider, UniLedger does not receive your full payment credentials.
8. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information only as necessary to operate and secure UniLedger, manage profiles and subscriptions, provide requested functionality, respond to support requests, process payments, comply with legal obligations, and improve the reliability of the Service.
We do not use your profile information for targeted advertising or advertising personalization.
9. Legal Basis
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on an appropriate legal basis, including performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Financial data stored exclusively on your device cannot be disclosed by UniLedger if UniLedger does not possess it.

Where required by applicable data protection law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
This applies only to information actually transmitted to UniLedger or its service providers. Data stored exclusively on your device is not transferred internationally by UniLedger merely because you use the Service.

Financial data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it.
Other information processed by UniLedger is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, maintain security, resolve disputes, or protect our rights.
13. Security
UniLedger is designed around local storage, data minimization, encryption, and limiting unnecessary transmission of financial information.
However, no device, software, storage system, encryption method, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Data Export and Deletion
UniLedger is designed to let you export your accounting data in an open, machine-readable format.
You can delete locally stored financial data directly from the application or your device.
Deleting your UniLedger account does not automatically delete copies or backups stored on devices or storage locations you control.
15. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or obtain a portable copy of personal data processed by UniLedger.
These rights apply to information UniLedger actually processes.
Financial data stored exclusively on your device is not accessible to UniLedger, and we cannot access or delete it on your behalf..
16. Children
UniLedger is not intended for children who cannot legally consent to the processing of their personal data under applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as UniLedger develops, including when functionality, integrations, service providers, or legal requirements change.
The current version will always be published on this page with its latest revision date.
18. Language
The English version of these Privacy Policy is the authoritative version. Any translations into other languages are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and a translation, the English version shall prevail.
